Data Quality Solutions (www.dqs.us) announced that the US Patent & Trademark Office has issued the company an expedited patent for its integrated services oriented and grid architecture.
DQS said the USPTO granted the rare expedited patent because the company's Enterprise Business Process Management System and Method was deemed important for "countering terrorism."
The company's technology provides for the integration of all types of data and applications on all platforms from any domestic or international agency under one combined services oriented and grid architecture, DQS said. Applications are easily integrated into platform or language-specific processing engines, and the data is passed to the different integrated applications in the sequences that are designed and tested using a graphical interface.
"The present invention is applicable to all data and application integration projects currently being conducted by government and international agencies responsible for counter-terrorism activities," DQS said.
"The Inventor Service Center within the Patent & Trademark Office informed us that only 10 companies in the past 40 years have received this type of expedited patent review," stated company chairman John Walsh. "Naturally, we are very proud and look forward to putting our invention to work countering terrorism as soon as possible."
Data Quality Solutions said its invention provides the benefits of reduced cost, time and complexity of data and application integration, one of the largest and most costly challenges facing the intelligence, security and law enforcement communities.
Digipede Unveils SDK for Windows Platform
Digipede Technologies (www.digipede.net) introduced the Digipede Framework Software Development Kit (SDK) for the Digipede Network and showcased its distributed computing software at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference 2005.
The Digipede Network pools the power of Windows desktops and servers to deliver improved performance for real-world business applications. The solution is built entirely on Microsoft .NET technologies, which the company says makes it easier to buy, install, learn and use.
With the Digipede Framework SDK, Windows developers can grid-enable their applications to benefit from the improved performance of a distributed application, the company said. A Digipede-enabled application automatically takes advantage of all hardware running the Digipede Network within an enterprise, delivering increased performance and scalability.
DataSynapse Grid-Enables BNP Paribas
DataSynapse announced that BNP Paribas' global structured credit group has implemented its GridServer infrastructure software for greater performance and resiliency in its trading and risk systems.
The grid has been deployed at BNP's London operations and will be rolled out to additional sites in New York and Tokyo and across multiple business lines, including the credit and interest rate derivatives group. BNP Paribas London has deployed GridServer across HP blades in the bank's structured credit group to improve performance of its credit derivatives operations. By sharing IT resources, BNP Paribas will also increase utilization of existing hardware and reduce capital spending requirements, Data Synapse said.
